Mom’s terrifying find in 7-year-old son’s bedroom has us feeling itchy all over

A mother has been left puzzled by a weird discovery at the foot of her 7-year-old’s bed.

After encountering the unidentified substance, she decided to reach out for answers on the Family Lowdown Tips & Ideas Facebook group, essentially asking WTF!?

“Does anybody have any idea what this could be? It’s at the end of my son’s bed on the floor,” she wrote alongside pictures of a substantial mound of unknown substance sprawled across the floor adjacent to her son’s bed.

“Does anybody have any idea what this could be? It’s at the end of my son’s bed on the floor.

“Not anywhere else in his room, not in his ottoman bed base or under his bed. Just at the end in one spot (I’ve spread it out a bit to look). Any ideas, please?”

A mom asked a Facebook group for help after discovering a strange substance near her son’s bed.

Commenters weigh in with terrifying responses

The Facebook group’s members were quick to voice their concerns and speculate about the potential source of this unsettling phenomenon.

One member quipped, “Nope … new fear unlocked,” while another shared, “OMG, my skin is crawling – I hope this is cereal as I’m about to freak the freak out.”

A third member chimed in with a spine-tingling theory, suggesting, “Definitely tarantula black widow scorpion eggs. Extremely bitey, and they bide their time to attack.”

Some people theorized that it could be due to a mice infestation.

Another contributor added, “The horror definitely looks like it’s from something scary.”

A not so mice surprise

Amidst the speculation, some believed it might be the aftermath of a mice infestation

One member shared their own experience, revealing, “Had this in both my kids’ bedrooms.

“They had them ‘Warmies’ that go in the microwave. You heat them up, and they smell like lavender.

“Anyways, it turns out I had mice. Eating all the insides of the toys I caught them on camera.

“I had to move out. So my advice is bin the toys and get your traps out.”

Another member recalled a similar incident, saying, “Had something similar in our shed once. It was evidence of mice/rats getting in.”

One member amusingly added, “Mice have had a lot of fun,” concluding with relief, “I’m so glad that everyone said mice because, at first, I thought it was ticks.”

A not so scary conclusion

Despite the many alarming speculations, it was eventually revealed that the source of the disturbance was not as sinister as imagined.

It turned out the substance came from the inside of a microwavable heat pack.

The mother clarified that the debris had originated from a microwavable heat pack that had unexpectedly burst.

“I hoovered it a couple of days ago, and it wasn’t there. I went back to hoover again, and it was,” she explained.

“I have now found out it’s from a heat teddy that’s popped at the end of his bed.”

Others agreed, noting their shared experiences with similar microwavable heat packs, speculating that the seeds inside these toys were the culprits.

All we can say is we’re really glad it wasn’t tarantula black widow scorpion eggs!
