Mark Andrews suffers likely season-ending ankle injury as Logan Wilson terrorizes Ravens

Ravens tight end Mark Andrews’ season might be over.

He was ruled out for the remainder of “Thursday Night Football” against the Bengals after suffering an ankle injury during an awkward tackle in the first quarter of Baltimore’s 34-20 win.

After the game, head coach John Harbaugh told reporters that he feared Andrews suffered a season-ending ankle injury.

The injury occurred four minutes into the game when Andrews, 28, was brought down by Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson.

The tight end immediately called for assistance and was looked at by the Ravens training staff before he limped off the field.

Andrews went to the locker room after being checked out in the blue medical tent, and on the Prime Video broadcast, sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung said Andrews was using crutches on his way to the X-ray room.

He was initially deemed questionable to return before later being downgraded to out.

By the time he left the game, Andrews had recorded two receptions for 23 yards during the Ravens’ opening drive.

The potential loss of Andrews would be a significant blow for Baltimore.

His six touchdown receptions this season are the most by any tight end in the NFL, and he came into the night with 45 receptions for 544 yards.

Andrews has been one of Ravens’ quarterback Lamar Jackson’s favorite targets to throw to this season, especially on third down and in the red zone.

Speaking of Jackson, the Ravens nearly had a second injury scare shortly after Andrews went down.

Wilson also appeared to injure Jackson during a tackle near the sideline that looked similar to the play that brought down Andrews.

The Bengals linebacker appeared to twist Jackson’s ankle in an awkward position while trying to tackle him.

Jackson did get checked out in the medical tent, but came back into the game.

And in the fourth quarter, Wilson made it a trifecta when he laid a hard hit on Odell Beckham Jr. after the Ravens receiver made a catch.

He left the field in visible pain and was ruled questionable, though the game was well in hand at that point.
