It’s a killer story.
“Ted Lasso” star Juno Temple said that she grew up in the home that was said to be owned by the family of the famed fictional serial killer Michael Myers from the “Halloween” franchise.
“So my parents were living out here and I was born actually in the UK, but then I came back here until I was about 5,” Temple, 34, said Tuesday while appearing on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
“And I actually grew up in, this is an interesting place to grow up, my parents bought a house without realizing until Halloween came around and there was a tour bus that it was the original Michael Myers house from the ‘Halloween’ movie,” the actress laughed.
The “Horns” actress’ revelation caused Kimmel’s studio audience to gasp and applaud.
“Oh yeah,” Temple said, laughing herself.
When asked by Kimmel, 56, if she had any idea of the home’s pop culture significance, the “Maleficent” actor responded that she “was 5.”
Kimmel then joked that all realtors are supposed to disclose the fact that there had been a murder in the house “even if it’s fictional” to potential buyers.
Temple recalled one memorable Halloween when a tour bus came past her house.
“Apparently there was a moment where I was outside on a swing, probably playing with Barbies and fairies,” Temple recalled for the late-night host. “And I have naturally very curly hair and the tour bus was like, ‘Oh my God it’s Shirley Temple!’ and I turned around and was like, ‘No! I’m Juno Temple!’”
The story caused both Kimmel and audience members to start cracking up.
“And wasn’t Shirley Temple around 67 at that time,” Kimmel joked. “And that tour bus operator confused you?”
In the “Halloween” franchise, the home is located on Mission Street in South Pasadena, California and is where Myers kills his older sister in the film’s opening.
The home of Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) — which was sold several months ago in Illinois for nearly $1.7 million — is also located on Mission Street.
Since the original film starring Curtis, 64, released in 1978, there have been 12 “Halloween” films culminating in 2022’s “Halloween Ends.”
The “Knives Out” star posted a photo on Instagram, calling her last day on the film’s set “bittersweet.”
“Everything good in my life can be traced back to Laurie,” Curtis wrote in an essay for People. “I was with the writer of the original ‘Halloween’ when I saw my husband of 37 years for the first time.”
“As I write this, I keep connecting the dots,” Curtis added. “If I hadn’t been in ‘Halloween’, I wouldn’t have met John Landis, the director who put me in ‘Trading Places’ and showed the world I can be funny.”
“It’s now the end for Laurie and me. I’m weeping as I write this. I’m going to miss her. Movies are make-believe, but this is my real life. Mine has been made better by her,” the “Freaky Friday” star concluded.
“What I can tell you is that I now know the reason why I’m so good in horror films. It is because I’m not acting. When I look scared in a movie it’s because I am scared. I am scared right now, as I hang up my bell-bottoms and say goodbye to ‘Halloween.’ Life is scary. But Laurie taught me that life can also be beautiful, filled with love and art and life! Thank you all for MINE!”
