Hunter Biden interviewed by special counsel investigating his father’s handling of classified material: reports

First son Hunter Biden was among the hundred or so people special counsel Robert Hur interviewed over the course of his monthslong investigation into the president’s handling of classified documents, according to multiple reports.

Hur reached out to Hunter’s attorneys for an interview about two months ago, according to NBC News, though it is unclear when the interview actually took place.

The special counsel is expected to reveal the findings of his probe into President Biden’s retention of sensitive documents in a detailed report likely to be critical of the 80-year-old president and his staff and due out in the coming months, according to the Wall Street Journal, which first reported that Hunter was interviewed.

Hur has conducted about 100 interviews over the course of his 11-month-long investigation, including with Secretary of State Antony Blinken, White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, White House aide Steve Ricchetti and former White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, according to the outlet.

The president himself was interviewed by Hur in October, over the course of two days at the White House.

The special counsel is not expected to bring charges against the president, the first son or anyone in the case, according to multiple reports.

Hunter’s proximity to some of the classified documents, which date back to the president’s days as vice president and Delaware senator, has raised the eyebrows of Republican lawmakers.

The 53-year-old lived off and on at the Wilmington, Del., home where classified documents were first discovered inside the residence and garage by the president’s personal lawyer in December 2022.

Additional documents with classified markings were discovered on the property in January.

Hunter began listing the Wilmington home as his address following his 2017 divorce from ex-wife Kathleen Buhle — going so far as to falsely claim that he owned the property on a July 2018 background check form as part of a rental application.

He also listed the home as the billing address for his personal credit card and Apple account in 2018 and 2019, respectively, Fox News Digital reported earlier this year after reviewing emails from his abandoned laptop.

Images on the laptop also show a beaten up box of “Important Doc’s” and indicate Hunter had access to the family garage where documents were stored not far from where the president’s 1967 Corvette Stingray was parked.

The Wilmington address was also listed on Hunter’s drivers license during the time period that classified materials were stored on the property, a timeframe that also overlaps with the first son’s infamous crack cocaine addiction and his lucrative foreign business dealings.

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) expressed concern in a January letter to the White House that “President Biden stored classified documents at the same location his son resided while engaging in international business deals with adversaries of the United States.”

Comer also demanded that the White House turn over visitor logs from President Biden’s Delaware residences “in light of the Biden family’s suspicious business schemes with foreign adversaries” and the fact that sensitive material was stashed at the Wilmington home.

The White House claims no visitor logs exist, but the Secret Service admits that it has some records of people that went on the property.

The Kentucky Republican is leading a three-committee impeachment probe against the president that has largely focused on the first family’s foreign business machinations.
