After 20 years at New York City’s Gershwin Theatre, “Wicked” is still quite “Popular.”
On Sunday, Oct. 29 and Monday, Oct. 30, the Tony Award winning musical will celebrate two decades at Broadway’s Gershwin Theatre with three huge shows.
And if you want to ring in the occasion with Elphaba, Glinda and The Wizard, it isn’t too late to make your way down to Oz…er, Midtown Manhattan.
At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on tickets for the special occasion 20th anniversary performances was $88 before fees.
The other shows had prices starting at $124 and $203 before fees respectively.
Should you choose to attend one of the three performances, each will have a special theme.
If you go to the Sunday 2 p.m. show, you’ll be treated to a “Pink Performance” where ticket holders “will receive pink merchandise and a card signed by the production’s current Glinda, McKenzie Kurtz,” according to Broadway News.
Those that make it out to the 7 p.m. will see a “Green Performance” which comes with green merchandise and a card signed by the current Elphaba, Alyssa Fox.
But wait! There’s more!
“Audiences at both performances will receive a collectible “Wicked Day” Playbill and more,” Broadway News continues.
“Additionally, actors who have previously played the role of Glinda will be available for photo ops at the pink performance, and Elphaba alumnae will be available for photos at the green performance.”
As for the Monday Oct. 30 show, “Wicked” will celebrate the official 20th anniversary of the musical’s opening and alumni are expected to attend.

“Wicked” 2023 schedule
Like most Broadway shows, “Wicked,” has a standard eight show a week schedule running from Tuesday through Sunday.
However, there is one unconventional aspect in the near future. Rather than have your typical two shows on Wednesdays, “Wicked” has an afternoon and evening show on Sundays.
Matinees take place Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m.

The show runs 2 hours and 45 minutes. It should be noted that there is a 15-minute intermission.

“Wicked” cast
Rather than make you wait until you have a playbill in hand, we did the homework for you and found out a bit about each of “Wicked’s” five most notable cast members.
Alyssa Fox (Elphaba): Originally from Dallas, TX, Fox has been working her way up to the Elphaba role for 13 (!) years. Prior to her star turn, she was Elphaba’s standby on Broadway and also played the part as part of the national tour.
McKenzie Kurtz (Glinda): After seeing “Wicked” at 9, Kurtz has dreamed of playing Glinda. Before making it to her goal role, Kurtz performed as Anna in “Frozen,” Penelope in “Trading Places” and Star-To-Be in “Annie Live!” on NBC.
Michelle Pawk (Madame Morrible): Pawk has been all over the place having appeared on Broadway in “Triumph Of Love” and “Crazy For You” as well as off-Broadway in “Merrily We Roll Along” and “Turning” which netted her Lucille Lortel and Obie Awards.
John Dossett (The Wizard): Most known for his Tony-nominated turn in “Gypsy,” the prolific Dossett has also shown up in “Newsies,” “Pippin” and “Ragtime” on Broadway. You may have caught him in NBC’s “Law & Order” and HBO’s “John Adams” as well.
Jordan Litz (Fiyero): “Wicked” is Litz’s Broadway debut. In addition to national touring and regional roles in shows like “Legally Blonde” and numerous Walt Disney World productions. He also competed as a swimmer in the 2012 US Olympic Trials.
