Jim Harbaugh, Michigan get huge cheers and sing fight song at Wolverines hockey game

Jim Harbaugh might not have been allowed to be on the sidelines for his football team Saturday, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t support another one of the school’s athletics programs.

The coach, who was suspended by the Big Ten from coaching from the sidelines for the remainder of the regular season, appeared at Michigan’s hockey game in Ann Arbor against Minnesota.

The football team, coming off a 24-15 win over Penn State to move to a perfect 10-0, appeared at a raucous Yost Ice Arena that was filled with plenty of cheers.

At one point, in a video shared by Michigan’s hockey team, “Free Jim Harbaugh” chants rang out through the building, known as one of the loudest in the Big Ten and college hockey.

Another video showed Harbaugh and his team singing along to the school’s fight song, “The Victors.”

Harbaugh, hit with a ban over the team’s sign-stealing scandal, couldn’t coach Saturday in State College despite the school filing a temporary restraining order on Saturday night in an attempt to block the suspension.

Instead, offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore took over as interim head coach and led the team to a victory.

After the game, Moore gave an emotional and NSFW interview with Fox as he fought back tears.

“I want to thank Coach Harbaugh,” Moore said, with tears streaming down his face, during an on-field interview with Fox. “I f–king love you man. I love the s–t out of you, man. I did this for you.”

Harbaugh raised Moore’s arm in celebration in a moment that was captured at the hockey game.

A hearing is reportedly set for Nov 17, which is before the Wolverines’ next game against Maryland.
