‘Glitter doesn’t lie’: How sparkly substances can help you catch a cheater

All that glitters is bold.

If you’ve ever used glitter, or even just been around glitter, you know that it gets everywhere — and you’ll be finding it everywhere for days, even weeks or months.

Thanks to its persistence, savvy daters are now using glitter to spot their significant other cheating.

TikTok users are posting videos showing their method of using glitter to investigate their partners’ fidelity, including some who successfully caught their lover sparkle-handed.

One person put glitter in the passenger side sun visor of her boyfriend’s car to reveal whether anyone was riding shotgun — particularly an unsuspecting woman attempting to touch up her makeup.

“We all know a girl will look in that mirror at some point 😏 glitter doesn’t lie,” reads the video’s caption.

Such schemes were unnecessary for one jilted TikTokker, who found her boyfriend with glitter directly on his face.

Her probe of his shimmery visage eventually elicited the truth — that he went out and “a b—h sat on [his] face.”

One wife decided to use the trick to reveal a lower-stakes lie, putting small clumps of glitter on the toilet seat, in the shower and under the shower mat. “My husband said he will clean the bathroom while I’m at work today,” someone captioned another video. “Let’s see if he actually does.”

While some suspicious singles swore by the sparkle, others argued that the trend is more likely to reveal a lack of trust in the relationship as opposed to genuine fidelity concerns.

“If your bathroom is so clean you have to put glitter to see if he cleaned it. I side with him,” one said.

“Just trying to start a fight later,” another wrote.

Glitter-bombing your ex can also make for a satisfying revenge, as others have shared on social media.

One TikTok shows someone pouring glitter all over her boyfriend’s room and bathroom with the caption: “When your ex is a cheating liar.”

Supporters of this payback approach suggested additional places to sprinkle the shimmer, such as “in the washing machine, on a ceiling fan, spray it on the closet, in the dishwasher.”

“So harmless yet so painful,” someone commented.

“And [you] know he going to think of [you] whenever he randomly finds some glitter,” another said.

“I’m normally never satisfied with these videos cause they don’t use enough glitter but this was a great amount,” concluded a fan.
